Topcon Field Photography

Over the years, I’ve led field photography for Topcon across a wide range of active job sites and construction environments. My focus has been on capturing our technology in use, whether it’s machine control systems guiding heavy equipment or high-precision instruments supporting survey and layout crews.

Each shoot brings its own challenges. Sometimes it means positioning myself in a trench as an excavator bucket moves within feet of the camera, and other times it requires carefully navigating scaffolding on a multi-story building still under construction. Working in these conditions takes awareness, coordination, and trust with the operators and crews on site.

In addition to field photography, I often create specialized photo overlays and visual treatments to illustrate what the technology is doing, such as scanner coverage areas or data capture zones. These details help communicate the invisible precision behind Topcon’s solutions in a clear and engaging way.

The goal is always to document Topcon technology as it’s meant to be seen—in real-world use, surrounded by the dust, motion, and precision of modern construction. These images have been used across global product launches, marketing campaigns, trade show displays, and corporate events, helping to tell the story of how Topcon solutions power progress on job sites around the world.

Project highlight and takeaway

Being out on real job sites is always exciting. Every shoot teaches me something new about the technology, the crews, and how to tell a story that feels authentic.
